Adjusting annoying GALA volume feature on Navi.

I'm sure someone though it would be great to make the volume of the radio/CD change with the speed of the car... the faster the car is going, the more noise the radio/CD has to overcome. So someone came up with the concept of making the volume get louder as you go faster. Sounds pretty neat... until you have to live with the ever changine volume and find out it is really annoying, not helpful.

This is a simple issue to resolve on your Navi, only takes a minute to do.
With the Navi turn on, tilt your head towards your left so it looks crooked like so....
Depress the auido setting button, the one that looks like a music note to get to this screen.
With the right side knob, turn it to highlight "Volume setup", then depress the knob (enter).
This brings you to the Volume setup screen (duh)....
Again with the right knob, scroll down to "GALA"....
With GALA highlighted, press enter, then turn the knob to bring the GALA setting all the way down.
Depress enter again to set, now the GALA is to it's lowest setting and will no longer alter the volume with the speed of your VW.
Depress the "NAVI" button and we are back to my driveway.
On a side note, the "Switch On" setting is nice in that you can make the Navi turn on with a preset volume level. I listen to the music a lot louder than what my wife likes, so when the Navi gets turned on, it starts off at a low volume level. If you have it set to "Last", then it will be at the same level as when it was last turned off (which was always too loud). Nice feature if you have to share the car with someone who doesn't share your taste in volume levels.
